I'm confused with the Domi retention...his salary is $5.3m so if CBJ retained 50% that's a cap hit of $2.65m?

SJ retained half of the half in this scenario. Basically the Foligno trade repeated, only it’s Domi this time.

The idea of Toronto being able to run just a 20 man roster through a full 82 game schedule is asinine.

Of course, there would be call ups every now and then.

This is just the 20 players that would make the team out of training camp and suit up for the Leafs on any given night.

In any event, that's not the point of this post :/

I mean, he might...but it's probably for more than that, right? Like, the guy is coming off another great year, and absolutely should have a massive payday coming up...I guess it depends on whether he values playing for his hometown team and giving 50% of his already discounted price back to the tax man or not.

There’s actually a term for those people. It’s intelligent.

I know he didn't say Dougie Hamilton will sign with the Leafs in the off-season.

This post is about what the Leafs would look like if it actually happened.

What Elliotte Friedman did say was that Carolina gave Dougie permission to talk to other teams.

        So, it's a possibility.

If the Leafs sign Dougie to a massive contract, it might not be intelligent.

        But, that's beside the point.
