Idk the Calgary trade is pretty rough IMO. Swapping Troch for 1 year of JG and a couple firsts is a lot. Especially if no extension is in place. In the short term Canes depth through middle takes a huge hit

Just to clarify if the JG trade happened it would include a long term deal in place with it. Carolina would trade then give him an extension.
