3 way deal to get Eichel - MIN and BUF

Team: 2021-22 Arizona Coyotes
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2021
Published: Jun. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
ARI gets: Jack Eichel and Victor Rask
BUF gets: Barret Hayton, Victor Soderstrom, Alexander Khovanov, 2022 first rounder from ARI (top 5 protected), 2021 2nd from MIN and 2022 2nd from MIN and 2023 2nd from ARI.
MIN gets: Nick Schmaltz

So basically ARI moves Hayton, Soderstrom, Nick Schmaltz their 2022 first and their 2023 2nd to BUF for Eichel and then the Sabres move Schmaltz to MIN for Khovanov and 2 2nds and MIN pretty much gives Rask to ARI in order to fit Schmaltz (they get a C in Schmaltz so they need to move one).

Now, I don't want people screaming at me for this idea I had a few days ago. This is still a work in progress. So please give me constructive feedback.

BUF gets picks and prospects, MIN gets a center who happens to be a right handed forward which they BADLY need

Minnesota gives up a lot just for Schmaltz. Why just to help facilitate the trade??

Why wouldn’t they just trade 2 2nd to Arizona for for Schmaltz.??

I like the return for BUF but I don’t see the motivation for ARI, I think they should be in sell mode too.

Because the also dump Rask. 2 2nds and a ho hum prospect is a no brainer for MIN.

Actually a pretty good thought. I know many Sabres won't like it because they don't get a NHL good player immediately. But with the pick and 10mi in cap in they can reconstruct their roster.

Why is Minnesota in this at all? The Sabres would be much better off keeping schmaltz (I believe there were rumors that our front office liked him last year), the Minnesota trade does absolutely nothing for us.

I don’t know, I don’t think so.

I would much rather Rask. And he’s an UFA after this season. They get the cap relief after this season if they want amd give up no draft assets. No ho hum prospect. And Schmaltz’s is contract isn’t exactly good. U mean Arizona gets to dump Schmaltz’s contract??

It’s just way more difficult to get 3 team trade equal than just 2. Especially since no trade is equal in everyone’s eyes and most everyone’s player values and evaluations differ.
