Additional Details:

Trade Deadline, NJ committed to giving their younger players a chance to play. Wood plays a playoff brand of hockey that has shown to come at a premium price at the deadline (Foligno, Coleman, Goodrow). Butcher doesn't fit NJ's system but is capable of logging big minutes and is still certainly an NHL calibre defenseman. Winnipeg fills two huge needs and make a push for a deeper playoff run.

Pretty sure the Jets won't need Butcher, pretty flush with LHD's and most assume Chevy will actually do something this offseason to somewhat address the defense and I can't see them trading a 1st for a bottom six guy in Wood even if he plays a playoff style game, this doesn't seem like a Chevy trade to be honest

Maybe but idk, seems unlikely that both those guys won't be ready, Heinola appears to be more then ready for a top 4 role.

I'm really not a fan of Subban in any way but if there were no other options I'd at most do the 2021 2nd and a mid to late round pick for 50% retained PK,
if that's not enough for NJ that's fine, would just go with what we got or find another option.
