Seeing all of these Parayko for Nylander trades is getting annoying. It will never happen.

I don't understand why people want to bring Parayko to Toronto, he's not a top pairing Defenceman at this point in his career, so who do you play him with? Gardiner? You might as well put 5 forwards on the ice.

Redneck: Take a look at this trade again, Parayko is at least for now, still a top 4 pairing defenceman and in the right situation the potential for top 2! I would not pair him with Gardiner, I would package Gardiner and move him along! Parayko is an upgrade!
Moving a top 6 forward for a top 4 defenceman is never a bad thought particularly when the system is flush with offence from the right side!

As much as folks fall in love with their own players and prospects, folks also fall in love with players (or at least their stats) of other teams.

Everyone seems to think Parayko and Shattenkirk. must be soooooo good they are worth of trading your top young players for or giving top 2 NHL Dman money to a UFA.
Same with Landeskog and Duchene. Especially Landeskog is he that much better as a second winger on your current team, that he worth 5.6m long term and to give up three young assets for?

Admitting Nylander for Parayko, logistics wise does make sense somewhat in a trade, especially if Nylander can prove himself to play centre.

Though a fair trade Nylander to me is too versatile to trade. So if I was to trade with a team I would look for a team in need of Forward depth and willing to take NHL ready AHLERS like Kapanen and Leipsic than trading a stud like Nylander. But saying that if Lou and Co are confident that a player like Parayko is the guy that can solidify our top 4 then it should be straight no cap dumps from STL and no picks from Toronto.
