Did Leafs fans start cheering for the Flames? Why does every Flames fan think Tkachuk is worth all that? He's not. He's a very good young player, but he's not worth anything close to this package.

Kyrou+Thomas+Dunn+1st is an Eichel package imo)

And even that I would be somewhat hesitant not knowing his long term, but it is much closer. Eichel at least is a top 10 center in the league where Tkachuk may not even be a top 10 LW let alone winger in general. I like Tkachuk and the Blues need him (or someone like him) but the amount of insane trade ideas I've seen are ridiculous

Top 6 LW for the Flames. Not a top winger overall. All I'm saying is that Tkachuk is a really good top 6, perfect for what the Blues need, but they won't trade Thomas AND Kyrou to make it work. Blues need more youth, not trade it away. Unfortunately, I dont think they are good trade partners. Blues should be interested. If they could make. Dunn+ Neighbors + 2021 1st deal work I think it could work for both teams now and the future

Nah, you're asking waaaay too much. And there's less than zero chance the Blues would ever ditch Thomas to grab his best buddy Tkachuk, as they'd want to play them together. Obviously.

No. We'll just wait a couple years and grab him as a UFA.

Yes, but since he came in others have also come into the league like Svechnikov and now Kaprizov. At even strength points he falls to 9th during that time frame and in terms of points per game he falls to 13th (that's taking out Kaprizov and J. Robertson since they only had one season) so he falls out of top 10 there. Again, I like him, but he doesn't deserve anything close to that package.

The Canucks will trade Olli Juolevi for Tkachuk straight up! Fair deal. OJ was taken one pick ahead of MT in the 2016 draft, so he must be better right? ......right? Hmmmm....Calgary should throw in a 2nd rounder too, just to make it even.

And Kyrou makes no sense for the Blues to move. Again, they need to get younger and faster. My overall proposal would be: Dunn, Neighbors, Hofer and a 2021 1st which is 16th overall. That's the most I'm willing to go. I would offer up Schenn or Tarasenko but I don't think Calgary would be interested. If for some reason they were interested in Schenn (they wouldn't be in Tarasenko) because they still want to compete I would offer:
Schenn + Dunn+ 2nd.
Don't see this happening though either.

I think that would be more in the realm of possibility - something like Dunn, Kyrou, 16oa and no retain on Tkachuk. That's a ton of value coming back, and probably too much to STL to give up, but if they really wanted to make the move that should probably be the ceiling. If you take away the PP, Kyrou actually out-produced Tkachuk this season, and he is going to cost a lot less for longer, especially after Tkachuk's bridge deal is up. (Kyrou actually scored more than anyone on STL or CGY at 5v5 this season, he had 27 primary 5v5 pts which was in the top 25 league-wide.) If Gio goes to Seattle, Dunn would easily be one of the better top4 D options for CGY. Blues haven't had picked as high as 16 since 2010. It would be a lot to give as a Blues fan - too much for my taste. Rather wait it out and see where the CGY-Tkachuk relationship goes as he gets closer to the end of his current deal.
