Exploring Reports Tkachuk wants out of CGY

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2021
Published: Jun. 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This isnt a Debate on IF he does or not
I dont care about your opinion or mine even on this subject

This about Exploring the overall COST it would take to move him
As well as what KEY to any trade bundle would be .
Example : Joe Sakic when selling his teams top 3 Centers said a top 4 D under 22 was KEY

This is for Intelligent Conversation or Debate
Its not an attack on CGY or an Insult from MTL
Its the first offer to start the conversation in
Order to find an actual package that works

Whether its MTL or another team making the trade , i dont care
The idea is to establish a Set Value

I dont Expect Tkchuck to re-sign longterm with only 2 years until he's a UFA.
I think for this reason teams wont pay as much as he could get similar to Pacioretty situation where he said outright he wouldnt sign long term and an LAK offer was removed from the table.

I'm offering up:
- A Level Defense Prospect
- B+ Level Goalie Prospect
- Depth Defensive Prospect with Speed
-1st round pick in 2021
-2nd round pick in 2021
-2nd round pick is Conditional if Tkachuk makes ECF with MTL in 2022 it becomes a 1st round pick in 2022 .

I'd give up more but Tkchucks hit 50+ points just twice
Its hard to over pay for a really good middle six winger
Like Gallagher his Goal Scoring gives him the added value that makes it worth it

Its most likely there's other teams willing to pay more
But none are close to being contenders and will stay that way outside maybe Ottawa.
They could get a Package in with a few solid pieces if they wanted to without sacrificing their future to do so.

Let me know what you think
IF you got a counter offer let me know and we'll barter
I'm not married to this trade its just a jumping off point

  3. Primeau, Cayden
  4. 2021 1st round pick (MTL)
  5. 2021 2nd round pick (MTL)
  6. 2022 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
-Top Junior D Prospect (2nd best D Prospect) taken in the mid 1st round last year

-Tandem Goalie just went on a 22-5-1-1 finish to the season capturing the 7 game win streak with Mcniven to tie the Franchise Record together a week apart.

-Great Defensive depth player for your bottom 6. Forechecks hard and Backchecks even harder with great speed for a reasonable cap.

-1st in 2021
-Conditional 2nd in 2022 that becomes a 1st if Tkachuk makes ECF with MTL
=2nd in 2021
2.
MTL
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Seattle Kraken agree's to give up a conditional 2nd round pick and Select Paul Byron in the Expansion Draft in exchange for Drouin.

Conditional 2nd only Converts if Drouin makes the Playoffs in 2021-22 playing 50% or more games. Otherwise Seattle keeps the pick
SEA
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. Drouin, Jonathan
Additional Details:
Drouin is a gamble that Seattle can afford to take without regrets as they will need to meet the Cap Floor anyways the first 2 years. MTL cant risk it anymore despite his skill his consistency vs cap is to hard to justify

Byron we'd love to keep but our GM overpaid him by 1m which in today's world can be the difference between a Corey Perry,Nicholas Roy or Patrick Maroon.

O'Brien is not a reliable source. Eklund is a better insider

I think the reports that Tkachuk wants out of Calgary or least is going to explore his UFA options in two years are completely true.
Now I don't think Calgary takes that deal, but something like that is going to going to be the offer that Flames accept if they decide to trade Tkachuk.

Seattle are going to lots of options who they select, and there will many big contracts exposed. So no way are is Seattle going to have problems reaching the cap floor. 5.5m and 3.4m Byron doesn't seem all that attractive. Heck for that 8.9m you're talking Doug Hamilton numbers or a very good UFA. And Seattle cap will include any UFAs they sign.
