I wouldn't say it's "much needed". They're just stuck in the mediocre zone and they need to pick a side. Rebuilding may be the better route to go though.

To be fair the oilers have loves the strategy of screwing themselves over the years, but hopefully they could have a change I heart.

That trade does nothing to help the Blues. They'd only trade Dunn because they lack Dprotection spots, and getting back Eckholm puts them right back in the same situation. Plus, I highly doubt they'd trade a good young player to a division rival.
