Untrue. He's RFA and has zero leverage. They'll work out a deal

Arbitration. To a one year extension. Walks into free agency.

I just don't think Columbus has the pieces for Eichel other than their first which is 5OA. With so many goalies available they don't need to get one in a trade. We know they frown upon having Russian players on the team for whatever reason.

My preference in order is:
1 Ana
2 LA
3 Minn
I think these teams can offer the best overall return where a center prospect is concerned

You should probably eliminate LA as they seem adamant about not trading either Vilardi, Byfield or Turcotte. Anaheim won't trade Zegras but at least they have Steel they could deal.

Ana has Perrault
LA can afford Turcotte bc they would have Eichel, Byfield, Vilardi and Madden

Just because LA can afford it doesn't mean they want to. And they don't want to which is why they pulled out of the race.

We will see ...Last Friday Dreger says he sees LA circling back to Eichel. Lots of posturing to bring the cost down. If you believe everything that comes out of a GM's mouth especially when it comes to trades the draft etc then you haven't watched or listened to sports very long. They are all liars (in a good way) to help their own cause. How many times to you heard a player isn't available only to see him traded. It goes with the Territory of being a GM. In terms of LA you know that city craves star power just like NY, doesn't matter what sport it is.
It's being reported that a trade is close so hopefully it happens soon so it's over with and then we move to Reinhart who I think will get more teams calling then Eichel.

They love star power. That stated, they're also still in rebuild mode and seem to love the idea of keeping Turcotte and Kaliyev together. I'm guessing they would rather circle back next season when Brown is no longer under contract. I can still see Vilardi traded, not Turcotte of Byfield.

As I said hopefully this is over soon....as for circling back next season I think it will be too late, Jacks a gonner as far as being a Sabre. I think for as much as he wants out the management wants to part ways. Then, of course there will be the arguing on the Sabres got ripped off, the I told you so's etc

Personally the sooner he's gone the better. Cozens will never be as good but as a leader he will be tons better.

Actually if Mittelstadt continues where he left off at the last part of the season that would help....but from all reports Adams is asking for a top center prospect under 24. Like you said you can ask but it doesn't mean you will get it. Time will tell...lol

Middlestadt was doing much better, but there was a game towards the end where he pulled a Dubois and just stopped playing on the shift. Forgot which game it was but it was awful.
