Additional Details:
Been seeing a lot of COL fans trading Graves away for some futures. Juolevi either gets picked by SEA or is a 3rd pairing replacement for their D-corps

SEA officially select Gadjovich and trade future consideration for retained Holtby. Tell me I am wrong in the comments but I think Holtby actually has value at 3m for 1 year. If all else fails SEA can flip Holtby by retaining again.
    SEA
    1. Gadjovich, Jonah
    2. Holtby, Braden ($1,300,000 retained)

    Additional Details:
FLA was the team VAN had to outbid last off-season for Schmidt

Trade can be to anyplace that wants a hardworking leader. Roussel is a legit, everyday NHLer but is overpaid. A team like DET makes sense to me, plus after the salary retention, its really a free lottery ticket (6th rounder) for 900k

Apparently Juolevi is expansion exempt because of games played this past season, so he might be enough on his own to land Graves.

He doesn't meet exposure requirements but he CAN be selected in the expansion draft.

I don't think Van can get more than a 3rd round pick for Schmidt.
Saad and Haula probably need at least 1M and 1Y more to come to Vancouver.
Colorado would likely accept the Graves trade and I think the rest of your contracts are pretty spot on.

Schmidt is going to bounce back, I don't see VAN moving him this quickly.

Hmm why do you think that (re: schmidt)? Schmidt, imo, is a legit Top 4 guy. He is mobile and joins the rush. I think he had a meh year in VAN this year but he is great piece for a team on the verge of contending (FLA, not VAN). Gudas was included to help the money work better for FLA but if thats the issue VAN can find a 3rd pairing guy in UFA for a similar price.

Agreed! But I do think he is better suited on a team ready to contend.

Detroit doesn't need Roussel, the only reason they'd take him is to gain worthwhile future assets. A 6th rd pick is essentially worthless and offers no incentive at all. If you're gonna retain on him then you should try to pawn him off on a playoff team looking for 4th line grit

Question. Why give up an asset to move Roussel and retain half his salary when you can buy him out?

Buying him out actually saves less on the cap and then you have to deal with over 600k on the cap next year. Long story short, I don't believe buying out Roussel is a smart decision. Can burying him in the minor and saves almost as much as the buyout

Holy Moly! I love Eddie and for the first part of this season I thought he was VANs best DEFENCEman but yoikes thats too much for a guy who is a step behind. If thats the case then let him walk and sign some UFA for a mil.
