Doenst really matter. STL has Krug and Parayko running the Points on their 1st and 2nd PP units. Rielly wouldn’t even see any time on the PP.

The Blues have not been afraid to use 2 defensemen on the same PP for a couple years now. Rielly will definitely get PP time

They had Pietro, Parayko and Dunn eariler
This year they used Krug, Parayko and Dunn on the PP

Lol. I doubt it man. They didn’t even meet Pietro salary request. But they are gonna extend Rielly, who won’t see time on the PP and isn’t a top PK player like Pietro is either. Wait till STL fans get In here and see this..lol.

They wouldn’t trade Bob Thomas straight- up for Rielly. Thomas contract is super valuable too. He’s not even arbitration eligible yet.

Ohh and Mikheyev is a 1 year rental too. I doubt the Pens give up a 25 year old McCann after his best season.

If I was the Blues, I would not do this trade, but I can see the Blues taking it because they want to stay contenders.

Thomas had 3 goals this year

Played 33 games. And he’s 21 years old still. Was the top prospect in their system. Again his contract is super valuable. Especially with this flat cap.

You made StL worse, Imo, Not a contender.

They are up against the cap and u just put them signing Rielly to an extension and all their money in 4 D-men.

Faulk-6.5M, Krug 6.5M, Parayko, 6.5M and a UFA at season end, needs a new contract, a higher contract. Rielly 5M and will also want big money in an extension. It makes no sense.

And to trade a way a very young, good two-way forward, that is controllable and cheap for the next 5 years is ridiculous. That’s how u stay a contender, find guys like that.

Rielly will get a 6.5M deal too, matching each of their top 4 guys
Thomas played W mostly. ROR, Schenn and Bozak as the 1-3 Cs

I said a Forward. That’s a center or a wing. He can and has played both.

Again, STL is up against the cap. Didn’t even meet Pietros salary. And have to reign Parayko at seasons end. To a higher contract.

Won’t even play Rielly on PK or PP. they will not pay him 6.5M. Or even trade Bob Thomas for Rielly straight up.

Rielly will definitely play on the PP, and they should trade parayko if they are smart, he is not that good anymore

?? Lol. Ok. Rielly has a horrible shot. Parayko has a rifle. Parayko’s is big and physical. Rielly is soft. I don’t even want to continue. Rielly has just 10 career PPG’s. Parayko has 16 in 170 less games.

Rielly shouldn’t even be on Toronto’s PP. He has a horrible shot. Maybe Acouple shifts here and there on the 2nd unit PP. He definitely wouldn’t see time over Krug, Parayko, Faulk on the PP.

LOL, clearly you have never seen the Leafs PP. Their system was always designed to let the forwards shoot. The D almost never shoot, even if they have a strong shot (Muzzin)

It doesn’t change the fact Rielly doesn’t have a good shot. And Parayko has a rifle. Etc.

You dont need a good shot to be effective on the powerplay, especially as a defenseman

All leafs fans I know, want Rielly gone. They say he’s not a 1st pairing D-men. Has a horrible shot, and shouldnt even be on the leafs PP. that’s from Leafs fans. That’s where I got this from.

And u obviously want him gone too. And won’t convince me of his PP prowess(in your mind).

Like I said, every leafs fan I know, wants the Leafs to let him walk. They don’t even care if they get anything for him. If they trade him great!! But if not, don’t resign him. That’s what they all say and want.

Parayko has a rifle but barely gets PP time because he has accuracy issues. Rielly is a good set up guy.

That stated, Blues don't trade Thomas for Rielly.

Parayko is a much better overall defenseman. Rielly is better on the PP. Sadly it's just reality. Berube should give Parayko more chances next year

Again, the Leafs system is not good for an offensive defenseman. The Blues system would give him a lot more freedom to do whatever he wants. Unlocking him offensively

Krug is a top 5 Point on the PP in the NHL. Very few D-men would see PP time over him

Ok. That’s your opinion. I disagree.

And so do all the Leafs fans I know. And most of them on here.

They don’t think even with an extended role(or I guess a different system) you are gonna see much more from Rielly. They don’t think he’s good offensively. And he’s soft!!

But whatever. Agree to disagree. U should be clambering to extend/resign him!!

Not gonna roast you, but Blues def don't trade Dunn and Thomas for 1 year of Rielly (an extension still doesn't make a difference). But it's pretty bad.

Are u forgetting that Reilly scored 72 points 2 years ago... with 20 goals. It’s sinful to think that he doesn’t belong on the PP

Again, that’s coming from Leafs fans!! Saying he shouldn’t be on the 1st PP or isn’t a 1st pairing D-man.

And Brodie was the Leafs 1st unit PP point anyways. It wasn’t Rielly. He was on the 2nd unit. like I said he should be.
