Even if you ignore the confusing retained salary transaction (I think NJ is retaining the 50%, not TB), there are still two players on the 23 man roster making less than the league minimum. This is very creative and I can’t find language in the CBA that would prohibit this.

I would expect the price to facilitate this might be higher than a very late draft pick (the team retaining the salary has the cash obligation, and the transaction also counts against a team’s maximum 3 retained salaries).

Unless that top pairing defense is playing 60 mins a night, that defense is horrific.
