Ehh maybe but they are looking to move him and the Hawks got a lot of good young talent coming up so they dont really need a roster player and they get a good pick for a struggling player.

trading strome for a 2nd would just be terrible asset managment they prolly use him as a peice in a eichel trade or the centerpeice of another package

His value is not that high, I doubt we get Eichel cuz the Sabers want a lot and I dont think we should or will give up Dach or Boqvist which would be the main players. The Hawks are a young team that are letting the young gus=ys play, we have a bunch of young talent coming up and we just dont really need Strome.

which is why you package him with other peices and get your future 2C the hawks should package strome their pick and a B teir prospect like Mitchell for Reinhart

Isles can get something for Leddy or leave him exposed at expansion. Not giving up a pick for him

So some of these could happen but not all of them. If they sign granlund they wouldnt trade for jost or strome. They need a center but not 3 of them. I like zadorov but I doubt they offer sheet him.

Islanders block the number lol. they can save 4.7 million by buying Leddy out but yea a team with very little draft capital/prospects will give up a 2nd to get rid of him.

- If they don't protect Stetcher, that will be a significant mistake.
- Chicago probably isn't giving up Strome for that return
- Hard pass on Compher
- The Vancouver trade is all kinds of wrong, especially since Bobby Ryan is a free agent and sign and trades are not a thing.
- Islanders trade, sure

- Not offer sheeting Zadorov, just not gonna happen
- Bertuzzi and Vrana will get more, probably Bernier and Hronek too

Isles aren't paying to get rid of Leddy. Regardless of the cap crunch Leddy is a a 40+ point dman that can skate with the best. His price will certainly be reduced because of the cap but not to the point where the Isles will be the ones paying. He's essentially buy low and flip at the deadline for a team like Detroit, not a cap dump.

If you buyout someone you have to pay long term.

1. I had them protecting there younger d men (Hornek Cholowski Lindstrom)
2.I think the Hawks would just because they want hime gone, dont really need him anymore, and the red wings 2nd will be a good pick
3. I wouldnt say "hard pass on Compher" yeah he makes a bit, but its for like 2 years, and hes a very solid and underrated depth option that can play center and wing and a good 2 way that can give some points
4.With the Canucks one, ig ur right on the Ryan thing but I was just giving them a roster player back, you could give them Namestnikov it wouldnt rlly matter
5. I mean ig ur right on the Zadorov but I just thought it was a good fit, the Red Wings like bug defensive defenseman and hes still young and has shown potential
6. and how much more you think? I mean I could probably see 100-500k

Well they gotta resign some key people and I think they could easily replace Leddy in fa or trade, Ik they do give up a pick, but they get 2 back

1. Hronek, Stetcher, Lindstrom is my choice and send Panik to Seattle with a mid round pick as a sweetener
2. I think the Hawks want him on the roster
3. Detroit doesn't need more depth guys, we have too many of those as it is. So, yes, hard pass on Compher. He's just not a fit.
4. Why would Detroit "give" anything? Those are cap dumps that we don't want or need. If we take them, it will be for assets in, not assets out.
5. Big, slow defensemen are useless in today's game. Speed wins.
6. By a LOT. Close to, or more than 1m a piece on Bertuzzi and Vrana and probably at least 500k or more on Bernier and Hronek.

1. I could see that one
2. The are trying to move him, they are even thinking about leaving him unprotected, I dont think we see him with the hawks next year.
3. I mean true but the depth sucks
4. They got a first round pick and a 3rd for the contracts and u do it cuz u have the cap, all u gave up was to late round picks and a older forward
5. I mean true but as a 2nd pair in the future he rlly isnt that bad
6. yeah i could see that

Detroit's depth is great, what are you talking about?!? We lack elite players, that's what's hurting us. Adding more depth, doesn't fix that.

The idea that Detroit has space and CAN do it is irrelevant. If it isn't worth it, Detroit declines every time. The cap space is a tool for us to use, not a charity to help other teams.

I wouldnt say great, it was a lot of older guys, also Compher only has 2 years left, if he doesnt work or does well you could always flip him

You're still sending back 3 mid/late picks and saying a roster player? Yea, no. It's all a moot point anyways, because they both have NTC and I doubt either of them would waive to go to Detroit.

"Flipping" a player isn't just a thing. Also, he's just not a fit. Square peg, round hole. No matter how you justify it, it makes zero sense for Detroit.
