i like the idea of the 8th overall pick and all but i think LA is a team looking to draft the goalie, i think that pick is untradeable

Ah, yes, that wave-the-"comes with extension"-magic-wand trade . . .

I have a better idea -- we trade that package for Mitch Marner and Timothy Liljegren.

You're not getting 4 good assets including 8OA for Rielly. C'mon

Anderson and Walker are both >> Liljegren currently. The "currently" is important because the Kings are looking to come out of their rebuild sooner rather than later. And Kempe > Kerfoot in skill. In addition, for that, it's also age, contract cost, and team control at the end of the contract. So that becomes Kempe >> Kerfoot.

Reilly doesn't overcome those, much less enough to add the #8 overall. Not to mention, there's no guarantee Reilly signs unless Toronto does it before the trade.

As a result, that's going to be a quick no from LA. You might even hear some chuckling in the background as Rob Blake hangs up the phone.

Yea, as noted above.....extension talk is 99% of the time meaningless.
That's a bad trade for the Leafs with Arizona. Crouse is no better than Engvall. I don't know why these bottom enders on non playoff teams are perceived so much better than the Leafs players.
Lots of goalies available via UFA without giving up a first.,

Two other good assets were included with Rielly

🤨

Why ignore them

Kerfoot most likely is a cap dump, and Liljegren still haven't proven anything (he's still a ''project'')
