Eichel to Rangers

Created by: Pullero
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 2, 2021
Published: Jul. 2, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So apparently Rangers want Eichel... rumours suggest that Sabres are dreaming of getting Lafreniere, but I cant see him moving. Instead we have Kakko and Chytil who would be imo great adds for Sabres and with Eichel going back the other they would be expendable for Rangers. Then we add the 15th overall pick and I think this trade needs one of the Rangers defense prospects to go trough. Could be anyone of them: Jones, Lundkvist, Schneider, Robertson

I think both Eichel and Sam will get less than that in a trade but the Risto part is fair, although you will likely need to take some cap back for the Pens as its tight for them.

Other than that its good matching on teams and players

that's a big no thank you from the Rangers. If the cap wasn't flat and Eichel was 100% healthy then maybe, but even then that's going to be a hard sell.

Sabers can dream all they want but it'll come down to what is the best thing other teams offer, not Buf's wishes.

And the Ducks are still interested. Rangers can’t beat 3 overall+Comtois. It would be disappointing to see Jack on a team that’s worse than the Sabres though.

People also seem to forget about the bonus overrages that NYR are going to have this coming season.

Until another team offers something much closer to what Buffalo wants, Eichel to the Rangers isnt happening

Was reported the other day that the Ducks interest was overstated by the media.

As for "It would be disappointing to see Jack on a team that’s worse than the Sabres though.", whaaaat are you talking about? tears of joy

Its about who will offer the best package, its that simple. If this was LAST offseason I would be 100% with you but at this point its happening one way or another and BUF isn't getting the benefit of the doubt after the entire league made a joke of them with the Hall trade.

I DO think Eichel is going to get a hell of a return overall but I don't think fans favorite talking point of 'you have to give your best guy or it wont happen' is ever something that is based in reality. Its incredibly common for teams to just flat out say 'these guys aren't availible, but we still could make a package otherwise that's worth your while' and that is certainly the case for multiple teams.

Some teams will offer the big prospect but wan't buf to take on a bad contract, some will offer all the most pieces but not have the big name, some will offer the big name but not much else. There will be some give and take

Drury did a great job telling Drury that information. Of “no team is interested, but the Rangers have the best offer.” And yes the 2020 Sabres fully healthy would easily beat the ducks.

Why would Buffalo not take back a bad contract, they never said that

Interesting offer for a healthy Eichel.

Eichel's not healthy.

Rangers decline.

"And yes the 2020 Sabres fully healthy would easily beat the ducks." It's so weird to still be under that weird Sabres illusion that your team isn't an absolute dumpster fire. I commend you for that. Could they have beaten the Ducks? Sure! It's hockey! Anyone can beat anyone! Especially when it's two bad teams playing against each other! It's also funny that you figure that the Sabres are the only team that had any injuries this year. Interestingly, of the first 21 games that Anaheim played, 13 were against playoff teams (including 5 against Vegas), while Buffalo had 9 (including 4 against NYI).

Sabres w/ Eichel: 6-12-3 (21 GP)
Ducks first 21 games: 6-10-5

In conclusion: Yay! We both cheer for bad teams! The only difference is that my favourite team doesn't have a consistent track record of being a heaping pile of steaming trash tears of joy

Depends on the contract. For example what if Min offers the best package but says you need to take Parise to make it work?

Not drawing any conclusions, just throwing out some examples of the give and take that will be happening

The problem with Parise is his NTC. Not that Buffalo wouldnt take him, he wouldnt come here

Sorry Drury was obviously telling Dreger that “information.” There’s no way Eichel ends up in the Rangers this offseason.

oh really tell me them... (LA is out) and no one has anything, can take on his cap easily, and will be trading what ur asking for. So good luck when you get your mediocre return.
