I don't really want Dougie to be honest. Would rather have Boqvist back there. We also don't need Montour or Rittich at all.

Oilers say yes, but only if you make it a 4th or lower. I may be overvaluing Jones upside but I wouldn't give much more than a 1 vs. 1. So that's why I wouldn't want it to be too high of a pick. Obviously Keith is declining and will retire soon. An Jones has still a lot of room to grow.

It's really hard to put a value on Keith right now with his declining stats and being 38 but being a top pairing D on a bad defensive team doesn't help that. I think this is close to what the return would actually be. Jones is gone in expansion regardless, just means it probably costs us Benson there instead. Sounds like Chicago doesn't want to take a contract back or retain 50%, I think 25% is what they'd be willing to take to move him. In the end, if the Oilers I probably make this move knowing that Nurse is there to take the top pairing minutes and Keith is likely to be more successful further down the lineup.

Right now it seems like all signs point to Keith going to Edmonton. It just seems to be a matter of how much money Chicago will eventually have to retain or take on. At this point I would take any asset for Keith and even though Chicago doesn’t want to eat any money I’m sure that they will end up having take on some. It will be interesting to see how the timing of some of these moves unfolds with the expansion draft coming up. I wonder if teams with exposed young players like the Oilers with Jones or the Canes with Bean will look to make moves before the expansion draft in order to not lose those players for nothing. Either way it’ll be an interesting next couple of weeks.
