Schmaltz’s career best season is 52 points in 17-18. Kuznetsov’s worst season since he broke out in the 2015 playoffs is 52 points, and that was in 63 games in 19-20 when the pandemic shut it down early. Also not counting this past season since it was shortened and he had COVID twice.

To put it bluntly, we’re trading away Kuznetsov for a guy that is at his best equal to Kuznetsov’s most disappointing season.

Detroit probably accepts that although your 2023 2nd might be better for both teams.

Wings pass. Hagelin doesn't fit in with the team that Yzerman is building, and that sweetener is not enough.

At about the same rate as Staal for one. And he will help on the PK.

I'd still rather we go after bigger cap dump fish, with a better return, but I agree that if this was on the table, the Wings would probably accept, although, Wings fans better be prepared to say goodbye to Glendening - There are only so many slots on the bottom 6 and Givani needs to play every night.

I love Luke but I've already said goodbye.

Exactly why I have a 2nd for them to take on Hagelin’s contract

That return isn't that bad, probably not sending back a fifth though.
I would personally rather see Vanecek come over with hagelin.

Then we would want someone like Hronek back

He's not worth Hronek, caps lose him in expansion draft unless they trade him. Kings aren't going to trade for him before the expansion draft as they wouldn't be able to protect him either.
So a potential deal could be made to dump Hagelin to Detroit with Vanecek as the sweetener. Maybe even get a late round pick back.

Caps will probably pay Seattle to pick either Hagelin, Dillon or Schultz.. Also I saw an article showing all the goalies available and theres a lot of goalies better than Vanecek that will be exposed

He's just the best pick from the Caps in my opinion.

I agree, but I still think caps will pay for them to select one of those players Cuz we need to clear cap

What reports say, they are charging an arm and a leg for cap dumps or for them to select specific players.
