What Id Do with Tarasenko

Created by: tstrauss16
Team: 2021-22 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 7, 2021
Published: Jul. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Honestly not a terrible trade for the Blues, really brings in a Top 6 guy and a Top 9 winger. Dunn trade gets the two picks, it can also be a WSH 1st round but if I’m being honest I’d rather get a 2022 1st round pick for Dunn from like MTL or something. Barbashev trade would happen if SEA takes Blais, if SEA takes Sunny the Blues will need a 4th line center and look no further than Ivan Barb. Signing back Schwartz and signing Saad adds middle line depth on the left side. Really can sign a true back up goalie with the cap space available. But Blues need to keep some space to extend CV, CP55 and Vatrano next offseason.

If we trade for tarasenko, we will not be trading another top 6 forward to acquire him

I feel like Florida would want to hang onto Verhaeghe

What offer would Florida give for him you think?

Makes sense, I wanted to see what he could possible return from FLA, but I don’t think they would be the best trade partners

Florida fans stop me if I’m undervaluing, but maybe they would be down to part with Denisenko or Heponiemi and a pick?

Yeah I can see that. Denisenko and a 2nd or 3rd maybe for Tarasenko. It ultimately relies on whether Army wants to take a future approach or a win now approach

    Not trading Denisenko, possibly Heponiemi

Detroit declines, will offer the 2021 Washington 1st round pick instead.

A 2nd, his injury history and cap hit won’t well should let get a first. Plus the fact that he asked for a trade.
