Not bad for CBJ; though, I’d counter with taking away a 1st (or downgrading the pick) and adding Frost and Nolan to our trade package. Ghost only has the potential to be a Jones replacement - for now, he is still a net negative and a cap-dump.

I think Jake to STL is good - they’ll need someone who can replace VT’s production, and they have near equal cap hits, but they are in win-now mode, and aren’t likely to give Nolan time/opportunity to play up, meaning he’ll still be relegated to a Bottom-6 role.

CBJ at least have the time to try and let the guy meld in the Top-6.

The main difference here is, is that Vlad had 5 straight years of 30+ goals, Jake hasn't had a 25 goal season ever. I like Jake more than most, but we have enough facilitators, playmakers, whatever you wanna call them. We need goal scorers, and i think Vlad is a worthwhile gamble for sure.
