Why is Gallagher on the 3rd line? And Perry deserves a raise don't you think?

Perry has made 90 million career dollars and is playing for his childhood team that just went to a Cup final with a cap crunch. Im sure he sees the big picture much the same as Spezza signing that 750k deal

Spezza's leafs are in a cap crunch. The habs team you just made has 8M in cap room

    There is a difference

Can the Habs get away with icing a team without a single Quebec born player in the lineup? The only UFA Quebecer that isn't just a depth guy would be Savard, and he'd likely be on the 3rd pairing if they signed him. Maybe they could trade for Gourde, since Tampa needs to shed cap space, but his contract isn't much better than what Danault would be looking for.

Didn’t think about that, but I don’t care we don’t have any Quebecois on the team

Gallagher isn’t better than Caufield Anderson Toffoli Caufield

Honestly this is probs the route they will go. I dont know if Perry is brought back as remember Kovalchuck wanted to come back and despite doing alright Bergevin never did for some odd reason bring him back. I think Bergevin explores another vet as its not bad to do so. There are some pretty good options this offseason. The only questionable player is Armia as I think Bergevin looks for an alternative like maybe Hoffman

Gallagher is 100× better than Anderson the plug. Toffoli is streaky but not as good as Gallagher and Caufield is still unproven. I think Gallagher is better as of right now, but would not be shocked if Caufield passed him in 2-3 years

NO. We're not talking in a vacuum. Habs like most teams are in a cap crunch
