      He’s club controlled and DET does not need to move him. Mantha similarly got more than he should and Bert is in the same boat. Just as many ‘way under valuing of him’.

      You'd have to give a few 1st's for any team to even consider taking the cap penalty of the Shea Weber contract once he retires.

      This is true, the packages for him have been all over the map....except for Leafs fans who routinely offer a bunch of nobodies for him.

      I think he traded to Nashville just to demonstrate what our team would look like without his contract. If he retires then that's a mutual contract termination and his contract would be off the books. Or he'd go LTIR and wouldn't count towards the cap.
