    8. Pavel Buchnevich 🆕
    Right Wing, New York Rangers
    Age: 26
    Contract: RFA (Arbitration Eligible)
Scoop: Sources indicate new Rangers GM Chris Drury has engaged in conversation about the possibility of moving Buchnevich. Why? He is coming off a career season, where he collected 20 goals and 48 points in just 54 games – a 30-goal and 72-point run over an 82-game stretch. That means he’s about to be paid. His arbitration award, at a minimum, is well above the $4.54 million walkaway rate – and any arbitration award would walk him to free agency anyway. It’s time to either buck-up or book a ticket for Buchnevich.

Based off of name value, NYR adds- but Buch has been really good analytically and statistically for the past 2 years so I think it's an even trade that addresses NYR's 2C need.

Why would the Rangers trade their only good RW?

Buch has been the better player the past two years and is almost a year younger.

Like I said, based off of name value, NYR adds, because nobody really appreciates how good he is outside of NY market. But in reality I think this trade would go through despite what you said. Monahan is still a very good player and would fit in nicely as a 2C in NY.

Honestly, NYR are probably better with just keeping Strome there.

Obviously how much he gets will matter, but Calgary should do this trade yesterday.

If he is asking for Kreiders contract, that seems about right to me.
    Between $6-7m, 7 years

This would be doing the Rangers a favor. They keep him at 6M or less

No surprise as he's one of our only obvious trade chips. RNH ish cap hit. We should not give him more than 6x 5.3m, also without ntc as his cap won't fit after 22 or 23.
