Why wouldn't LA just sign Bozak to a contract themselves?

Wings pass, we dont need to move Bert for that, we might as well keep him also, hes not signing for 2.5m this wont work. 4+ for sure, so even if you made a good trade, which this isnt, then do it with the cap working.

laugh laugh For 2 years Tyler Bertuzzi gets closer to $4,000,000 per And zero chance of either Coleman or Suter signing with any Canadian team.

I’m not even going to comment on that abysmal Wings trade… but who is Seattle taking if you are getting picks back from them for 2 different players? You lose a player for free in the expansion, not receive a compensation pick.

Mikheyev & Engvall add no value to Detroit. So this is Bert + 3rd for Amirov which I’d pass. Kapanen returned better. Trades need to account for both team’s needs.

Kapanen returned amirov and hallander. Glad you pointed out a decent comparable trade. Personally I would rather keep Engvall. Really like his game. Detroit probably would as well. Mikheyev is ufa… no point in sending him.

I think Bertuzzi is slightly better and even Kap got a 1st at 15OA. so I do like Engvall but it isnt a fair trade overall

Bertuzzi is older and will cost more. Kapanen was younger signed for 3.2m and expires rfa as far as the play is concerned I would call them fairly close. Kapanen played a much lesser role with Toronto and put up comparable numbers. Neither is a true top 6 forward. After all that you have to consider injuries. Kap was healthy. Look at the return on Johnsson after knee surgery. Personally I always found johnsson to be the much smarter player.

Terrible Detroit trade and Bertuzzi definitely won't sign that contract. His qualifying offer is $3.5M at least.
