Description
Before I get bashed, I love MB and I really appreciate the work he did and what he's doing. IMO it's a good GM and he got a lot more good trades than bad ones. I repeat, I'm not criticizing him, even the best ones make mistakes, but I just wanted to imagine what the team would look like without those two.

No reason to apologize. The Serg trade was particularly brutal. No hindsight is 20/20 on that one either - I think the collective hockey world was shocked when that one happened.

KK wasn't a mistake. Gotta stop giving up on kids who aren't done growing. KK is far from done. He'll become a solid 2-way center. Be patient. What if Caufield doesn't score much next season, are y'all gonna want to trade him too? Give em a break geez. It's not every player that comes in the league and dominate right away, Some needs time.

Trading for Drouin was indeed a mistake, But that's another example of not giving up on your prospects too quick. Trading Sergachev early like that is exactly what people are trying to do with KK, y'all gonna regret it if it happens.

I'm not saying KK isn't good, and I also wouldn't want to trade him. But damn you really must be blinded if you don't see that Tkachuk is the better player. As for Sergachev, I'm way more disappointed with the return than with the fact of having trading him. If Drouin was a regular 60pts player who dont fall into 20 streak games pointless, this trade would still not be winner for habs but it would be less brutal.

Take the good with the bad as they say. Too much trying to appease the French media which hurts the team long term. Drouin for Sergachev case in point!
Kk needs time to grow and with Suzuki who Bergy got basically for free will take the pressure off him.
Armia was another steal of a deal that only helps. Need to resign him!

Danault was an absolute steal too.
Weber is a good move
Anderson's trade is great (Galchenyuk for Domi, Domi for Anderson) but is contract is a bit too high IMO.
Petry trade is a steal.
Another mistake might be Gallagher's contract who may be too high, might look as a cap dump in a couple years.

A lot of good moves, we can't really complain, I just wanted to see it Sticking Out Tongue

The Drouin Sergchev woldnt have been as bad if Drouin stayed the 50 point winger he can be but bringing him into Montreal when they did was the worst thing possible. They brought him into be a star when they didnt even really have anyone he could play with and thats the biggest mistake, not the trade but the situations both players were eventually put in.

2018 draft is one I still dont mind, KK was the 8th youngest player in the league this year and was always gonna be a project. it was also kind of bad luck that screwed KK though, I think they projected him going back to Finland for a year or two but that went belly up when his franshise went down the toilet basically forcing him to stay in NA. He has gone through some growing pains but will be a fine center when he grows into himself. Out of that raft though its still not Brady I would have wanted at 3, if you're using hindsight give me Quinn Hughes over Brady.

All in all not horrible but he has problems in evaluating young talent at times.

Kk had an okay playoff but (in a vacuum) if you swap him out for Sergachev and Tkachuk you guys probably win the cup this year. Hindsight is always 20/20 tho and if you had Tkachuk and Sergachev then maybe Anderson and Toffoli don’t get brought in so who knows.
