No that's ridiculous for the Leafs to offer Amirov and a 1st for a player that was essentially out all year with a MAJOR injury.

Nope Yzerman isn't dealing Bertuzzi for futures, Yzerman wants NHL ready players for Bert.

So you're taking more from Detroit without giving what we actually want? You guys are relentless (as are we).

Lol I'm not a leafs fan. I was just testing things out, but clearly it doesn't work for either team.

So we offer nhl players and get told Detroit wants futures, leafs agm gives up a package worth twice of Bertuzzi value and now they need nhl players?

What about Bertuzzi for Amirov, Brooks, and a 2023 1st.

That's fair. Wings fans want Robertson or Sandin and 1st involved. Leafs fans want Engvall and a 2nd. lol

From an unbiased standpoint, would Robertson + Brooks for Bertuzzi work?

Brooks isn't too appealing. He's a 25yo that's spent most of his days in the AHL. We've got plenty of those in the org already lol.

Nope Brooks doesn't replace Bertuzzi's production and Amirov is probably still 2-3 years away from being NHL ready.

That doesn't make any sense. If Toronto sent a player that replaces Bertuzzi's production, why would they add? The point of this type of trade would be to get a guy of lesser quality than Bert + a "future" with higher/equal potential to Bert.

Personally, I'd be fine with something like Robertson (future) + Kerfoot (replacement) + conditional 1st/2nd (based on GP/playoffs/performance or something)

Because Yzerman has already said that he's not moving Bert unless he gets a younger version of Bert. From what Kevin Allen said Yzerman is looking more at a 1 for 1 deal so he probably wants Robertson for Bert.

I'm not sure because all we really know is Toronto is interested in Bertuzzi and Yzerman will listen to offers. So I think it's a big leap to think the trade will be an even one if it even happens.

Stop it that's a ridiculous overpay for a guy that is a huge question mark.

The way you use the word "ridiculous" is ridiculous. Sure you can say it's a small overpay, but Yzerman knows his guys worth and won't give up Bertuzzi for some crappy offer like Engvall and a 2nd (which seems to make leafs fans happy). If I were to make another offer, what about Kerfoot, Amirov, and a 2nd for Bertuzzi? Clearly it's hard to make both parties happy here.
