There’s no way the Lightning do that Cernak trade. Cernak is extremely effective and very cheap—we can’t afford to trade assets like that away, especially if you’re not taking Johnson and you’re not giving us back someone cheap who can play right away on a cap-controlled contract.

Idk . I keep hearing things about Kanes attitude towards others. Could be bull crap . Hertl is one year away from UFA. San Jose us going no where next year soo.. They should tear down but those 3 defenmen contracts will prevent that.

My guess is the issues are between Logan "if vote for trump if I could" Couture and Kane. Putting Kane with Hertl definitely lead to good results this season so hopefully it continues...

And yes our 3 expensive D contract basically prevent a rebuild for a while, that and our GM and president have both came out and said a rebuild will not happen in this market as they would lose too many fans to the other sports (49ers, Giants, A's, Warriors, Earthquakes). It sucks but studying business I kind of get it business wise. And hey who knows many getting league average goaltending will solves like 60% of our problems after 3yrs of almost the worst tandem in the league
