If Bob Murray was a good GM

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 16, 2021
Published: Jul. 16, 2021

Description
maybe that's not enough for Eichel, but technically it's 4 first round items going Buffalo's way. All the value lies in that 2022 pick.

They dont want 4 1st round picks, they want the equivelant of 4 1st round picks. Lundestrom most certainly cannot bring back a 1st on his own, therefore he isnt the equivelant of a 1st round pick.

If you use mobetter it saves you 3 key strokes over more/better

Comtois has to be coming back with the 21 1st and a prospect, the Sabres arent adding to that deal

    Detroit declines, rather keep Bert.

@Islesforthecup is 2/3 right: neither Lundestron nor Perreault counts as a first-round pick, and the Sabres want the equivalent of four first-rounders. And trading our ticket to the Wright/Bedard sweepstakes wouldn't be a great idea, either; we'd need top-5 protection on that 2022 first. I just don't see a good fit for an Eichel trade; we don't have the surplus assets like the Kings.

Detroit isn't taking an underperforming guy and three futures for Bertuzzi.

The Jets would probably have interest in Lindholm, but they almost definitely wouldn't put the 22 1st in play for a rental.

You left out Perreault. The other two things you said are 100% accurate.

I had him going at the end of the 1st round and have no idea how his season went this year. I guess i gave him the benefit of the doubt lol.

I don't think that any of our young guys who have yet to make a strong impression -- Jones, Lundestrom, Perreault, Steel, Tracey -- are the equivalent of a first-round pick. Wish they were!

Yeah well eklund and zegras is gonna be a nice combo. ( yes i think they take eklund at 3).

We'll see. One of my main criticisms of the Ducks over the past three years is that except for Max Comtois, nobody wants to shoot. (Sam Steel and Troy Terry are particularly bad in this regard.) Dylan Guenther seems like another gunner to me.

pains me to say it, but yeah the Ducks would have to add either Zegras or Comtois to the mix, since the Ducks would be getting a franchise center. Even if our 2022 1st was a top 10 pick

hm maybe not but the Leafs gave up a first for Foligno lol. Plus, you'd have him for a full season and not <20 games

That's Toronto and teams always overpay at the TDL. As I said I think the Jets would be interested, but they also need to restock their prospects, so I just don't see the first being in play, unless it is a young top 4 RHD with term or a guy with top 4 potential and term.

the only reason I could see the Wings even trading Bertuzzi is to acquire better prospects and future assets. Otherwise why not keep him and have him part of the long term plan and develop with Larkin, Fabbri, Zadina, Raymond, Veleno, Seider, Hronek, and every one else??
