Description

Just for fun, I wanted to see what I could do if I assumed this draft was a crap shoot and all picks had to go.

I decided to clear out some contracts, fill in the forward ranks with some better depth and burry Russel, Mikko, and Turris. They all disappear next year so that should help cover upcoming raises.

I'm assuming this is a frustration post because Neal's buyout is $1.92M for the next 4 seasons. So giving up a 1st and 2 2nd rd picks isn't very smart. If Edmonton is going to throw away picks like this I'm sure Yzerman will be willing to take those picks.

Det would absolutely take that deal! You definitely overpaid though. A single 1st would probably do it but a 1st and 2nd would def be enough

For 2x 5.75 I don’t think you get it done for just 1 first. If Neal could play 3rd line minutes, maybe but last year he wasn’t even a fourth line player most nights.

Either way, the exercise was to use this years picks to clear dead weight and see what could be done. So I guess that put one of the future picks I added back on the Oilers list.

Unless that pick is then turned into someone else in trade, I don’t think anything changes roster wise.
