This is an interesting take. I’d swap a pick or prospect and take Ned out of that deal instead of resigning Mrazek tho

No way Edmonton does that. Bouchard is on their untouchable list. And if they wanted Ned, they would have taken him on waivers last year when they were short a goalie. Obviously he showed well this year but if they had any interest before this year, they would have taken him for free.

They passed on him when they thought Koskinen and Smith were their answers, right?

Edmonton doesn't make that trade.

Ridiculous that no teams claimed Nedeljkovic when he was on waivers but other 3rd/4th string/AHL goalies were being passed around the waiver wire, some dumb GM's out there.

At the time he went through waivers, Smith was hurt. In the Canadian division last year, there were a lot of 3rd goalies getting grabbed on waivers because they could not easily pull in another goalie for the minors in the US due to COVID restrictions. Edmonton claimed/lost a couple goalies on waivers (Forsberg, Grosenick, Stalock.. I may have missed one). But at the time Ned was on waivers, they were short a goalie and still passed on him. I was shocked they didn't grab him.

They couldn't have used him for 2 weeks because of the isolation period. This is a different situation, can't use the clearing of waivers to justify that anymore.

Your point has no merit, all the goalies I listed had to do just that (isolation) as they came from the US. Don’t get me wrong. I think Ned is much better but I think the guys making the decisions in Edmonton don’t see it that way unfortunately.
