if sakic views pouliot as a guy who can still reach his potential and views Fleury as an upgrade to varlomov, this deal can happen.

Hall and Subban deals were not mistakes Oilers acquired a beast and are in the playoff hunt as a result and Montreal acquired a strong Dman.

Oilers aren't in the playoff hunt because of Larsson. He's helped, but it's mostly because of McDavid and Draisaitl

The fixed D-core helps as well people under rate Russel and Talbot on this team. They have been clutch this season.

Thats a lot of "Ifs". I don't see Colorado who is looking to rebuild wanting Fleury. Just do Maatta, Pouliot and the 1st and at least it makes sense.

Edmonton is NOT in a playoff spot because they traded an elite winger for a 2nd pair defenceman. They are in a playoff spot because McDavid has been playing all year, Draisaitl is coming along perfectly, Talbot is a beast and Maroon has been a revelation. Larsson has been solid but definitely not the x-factor.

and the hall trade was terrible..they could have got way more and a better dman most other places...edm would be hands down a fav if hall was still on that team
