Draft and offseason

Created by: Blues4TheCup

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 23, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Draft, i think the top 10 is set (Power,Eklund,Beniers,Hughes,Guenther,Clarke,Wallesdt,Edvinsson,Mctavish,Johnson) I think the blues take at #16 whoever is left between Lucius,Lysell,Coronato,Ceulamans,Raty,Sillinger

I think we should retain salary in a Tarasenko trade to maximize the assets we get back, i think a lot will disagree but i think it is smart. Blues probably don't. Landeskog is the target this offseason and i would give gim 7x8 but if that falls through Saad, Schwartz and Hoffman are all good options

In order to make this trade, Ottawa would have to get an X-ray of Tarasenko's left shoulder.

Also, he might not waive his NTC for Ottawa.

Dadonov is of no great interest, they are not taking him AND retaining. Pick one or sub something more desirable in there.

1- He's 100%, check with his doctor.
2- You're right about that.

As long as Tarasenko would waive his NTC to come to Ottawa, I'm sure GMPD would accept.

I'd trust a doctor employed by the Ottawa Senators before I'd trust a doctor employed by Tarasenko.

An X-Ray of his left shoulder would do so much for determining his trade value.

Worth noting, Tarasenko's doctor is different than the Blues doctors

If the Blues could somehow package Vova and the 16th overall and get into the top 10 (via LA) then I think they should. Retain salary also to get a young player as well.

That may be, but they both have one thing in common.

They all want to present a clean bill of health to expedite a trade for Tarasenko.

Even if it means whitewashing.

Like I said, an X-ray of Tarasenko's left shoulder is the most effective tool for determining his trade value.

Well the teams involved would get the medical records which include x-rays. Based on his game 4 performance against the Avs, his shoulder seems fine

Are you legit suggesting that these doctors would flat lie about his health? Really?

"What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about"

The Hippocratic Oath is the standard code of ethics for anybody seeking to practice medicine.

It's been around for centuries.

If you ever studied Ancient History in high school, this would have come up.

The quote basically implies that any negative detail about Tarasenko's left shoulder is going to be swept under the rug.

Also, his doctor is based somewhere in the U.S. and Tarasenko dishes out hundreds, if not thousands, for every session.

His doctor is essentially his employee.

If you were Tarasenko and you wanted to be traded to another NHL team ...

What would you tell your doctor to say to every team that is interested in you?

Yes, I know what the hippocratic oath is. Still don;t see the point, because no doctor is going to crash their entire career and open themselves up to lawsuits for this. He's healthy now. Period. Get on board the reality train. May we offer you a complimentary mimosa for your ride?

How kind of you to misconstrue my entire quote.

Dude, I still don't even understand how you got from wildly suggesting that the medical report offered by the doctor the other day could be fudged in the favor of "good news" to quoting the Hippocratic oath, but it doesn't matter. There's trades and drafting afoot, a far better use of our minds.

(sigh)

You said that I was misconstruing what you said, so it seemed proper to explain that I actually had no idea where you went with that in the first place. Chill.

You literally wrote "blahblah" when quoting me.

If that's not misconstruing what I said, I don't know what is.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
