Comparing that crappy offer to the KK, Romanov, Drouin, first pick offers from MTL is hillarious and just shows the hatred some of you have toward the habs. Anyway, Eichel as of now isnt worth half of what you think he is.

Have you seen the amount of Habs fan offers? And most of them do not include KK AND Romanov and picks. Drouin is a cap dump and that's it, the Habs will have to pay someone to take him, which means an extra pick or prospect would need to be involved. Romanov is gonna be a big minute muncher and is a big part of any deal the Habs would make. MTL hurt KK's value in the playoffs by making him a multiple time scratch (though I really like him). Don't cherry pick one trade offer. Most of them have a base of Drouin, Kulak, Byron and a first.

Not most of them cmon. Also, Drouin isnt a cap dump. At 5,5m and putting at least 50 pts, hes right on par with the money he makes. Hes worth a 2nd without taking back equal money and a late first if we take back a similar contract (Koskinen for exemple)

He's hit 50 points twice in his career, and wasn't on pace for that this year. And it's not just his play that renders him as a dump. His off ice issues will also play a part. The best thing MTL can do is have him come back this season, play well and prove his issues are behind him, and then get fair market value for him if they still want to move him.

Man the offers all around are a bit crazy for the Eichel - some good, some bad and some ugly - that being said its funny how many people are trying to give quantity over quality and some sabres fans are chirping they want younger than 23-24 year old players etc. Usually if you are asking for someone under 23 you are looking for upside and they may not be proven at the NHL level. However if they are proven and they are elite no one will move them for Eichel because that respective team has cost certainty with the younger player vs 10.5 million a year.

Clearly what the Sabres are asking for they are not getting right now and NHL teams have minimal interest in paying the price (young elite prospect or prospects who are playing NHL ready hockey and wants value of 4 1st round picks etc.) - given the fact there is no decision on what they are doing with his neck....aka if he gets a cervical neck fusion he can be out of hockey for up to 6 months and if he wants he can drag it out longer he can (while getting paid and putting the sabres in a worse off position). That will put many teams off as they are behind the eight ball on getting this resolved. If they opt to do CDR he will be cleared for play much faster than the fusion and likely ensures he suits up earlier and boosts his trade stock.

When you add up all the variables its more likely that one of two things will happen - they lower the price and move him......or they allow him to get CDR surgery and hope he is playing before trade deadline so they can get a team that is desperate to part with a package closer to what the Sabres want.

This trade does nothing for the Sabres.

I will say that the Montreal offers seem to be getting more realistic on this site. The Boston trades have become worse then the Rangers trades.

Honestly a MTL trade with Buffalo would probably be a JK, Caulfield, and 1st. Ik ik Caulfield is untouchable but trades like this will make both sides feel uncomfortable. Either way MTL wins the trade by getting the best player in return.
