It seems people don’t quite understand this. Arizona can afford to pay the contract if they want, they are only $9 mil under the cap and paid Phil’s bonus so it’s easier to move him. They have the money to burn, they want picks and value to build for the future

absolutely love this trade. however, it might go down better if the sens gave a player with a contract with more than one year left on the term. especially since the yotes will only have five skaters with contracts after this season.

Ya I tend to agree. I think this would just be optimal for the Sens. Guessing it would take something more like Greig, Otts 2nd and 3rd rders. That would give ARI essentially a 1st 2nd and 3rd rder for Dvorak, which seems fair to me.
