Description

First I’d like to say I love the pelech contract. I was expecting him to get at least 6 million and he got less for term. I see sorokin getting similar contract to Nedeljkovic for the next 2 years. He won’t be the starter until varly is off the roster so he won’t get a shesterkin contract yet. Cizikas and palmieri I’ve heard are both signing long term contracts so that means the aav will be lower than otherwise. As for beau it doesn’t look like an offer sheet will be coming and I believe he gets fair value for his role on the team.

My buddy has coached kids hockey for 40 years. Kids about 10 years old He's coached for and against future NHLers. Years ago, when Pelech was just breaking into the NHL, he said the young Pelech was the greatest character kid, he ever coached and was the just a tremendous teammate to his mates. So Doug will be very pleased that Adam has been rewarded financially.

By the way, the best player he ever saw in that league ...PK Subban.

I agree with everything you said about a Pelech, crazy all these defenseman like Nurse and Jones get 9+ Million for 8 years, but Pelech only gets 5.75. And the Ned comparison makes sense for Sorokin, both played well in small sample sizes and are looking to price themselves. And also as a canes fan: pain.

You could be right , that’s a significant overpay though. Zajac might be the worst islander of the last decade. I also remember in one of his interviews he seemed annoyed that he was a healthy scratch , so that’s why it’s hard to believe he’s re-signing with no room in the lineup for him.

Beau is either getting a 2-3 year deal, or 7-8 years. 4 would walk him into UFA I believe.

2 year deal walks him to UFA .

I thought you said palms aav was coming down? Also zajac at 1.5 is a non option, as is hickey at LD2.
