That's funny, I completely forgot about that. I'll edit that deal out, for I like the Arizona deal.

COL isn’t doing that AZ trade for a number of reasons. Byram by the middle of the season is going to be a top 4 dman, So there is zero need for d depth. COL has a plethora of young forwards who they are going to give a shot to at the start of the season, LOC is a lock for the 4th line, Maltsev is going to get a shot at 4C, Kaut and Bowers are also ready for shot. Also Jost showed he was more than capable of handling the 3C and they aren’t going to trade away more draft capital at the start of the season.

They need depth on the right side. Dvorak is signed long-term so that they could let Kadri walk next off-season.

What was the trade he pulled down? Something with Kadri?

Kadri for Tarasenko and Blues were retaining and throwing in I think a second….

I actually switched the trades, it makes more sense now for the teams. I'd like Tarasenko on the Avs.

I Wouldnt do this from Avs perspective, makes zero sense. Nichushkin is one of the best defensive forwards in the league, its not like they need more offense... And St. Louis has no leverage in this Tarasenko situation, would shock me if they got an offer like this at this point.

I do somewhat agree with you, it would surprise me too. But I do like the idea of getting Vladdy for the Avs to play behind Miko, if they could do it for cheaper than that, then go for it.

I think Avs already have that guy in Burakovsky.

That's one winger, they could use two, maybe Kessel or Tarasenko, a guy with a championship experience is what's missing from this roster.

Heh. Problem is, the Blues won't.

By that logic you liked the Duncan Keith trade for Edmonton too? wink

They don’t need depth on the right side what a ridiculous statement. Girard AND Byram can play the right side I actually think Girard is better on the right. On top of that Barron and Helleson are RD. Who cares about Dvorak when they have Newhook, I’ll take him on his elc and potential every day of the week over Dvorak keep the picks, Nichushkin and the cap space. Yeah easy no.

They'll let Kadri walk no matter what. The belief and hope is that Newhook will take his spot at 2C.

”a guy with a championship experience is what’s missing from this roster”. Pretty much the same logic in bringing in Keith too. I think a locker room needs good leadership and that the core needs to be experienced etc. but a player with a SC ring or two is not the easy explanation to why Colorado hasn’t won a cup yet, it would be ridicolous to just simplify one of the hardest sports/leagues in the entire world by that… there are 31 teams that will fail with championship experience every year. Arizona with Kessel on their team now have won zero championships, what’s their excuse?
