No way on Earth they give up a first to get rid of Quick, they aren’t in a cap crunch at all, and he’s still a good veteran presence for that young team.

And they certainly aren’t following that up by trading Vilardi for Gerogiev, they’ll just keep Quick, and if they don’t Petersen will be the starter and they’ll sign/trade for a veteran backup

I’d have to believe both MIN and LA decline. LAK is better off keeping Byfield on an ELC, especially with where their franchise is at. And MIN should get a haul of prospects if they decide to move Kap, rather than just 1 grade A.

I believe they are saying the Kings do this because they need the cap space to facilitate the trade. I don't see Blake trading the key piece of a three-year rebuild with someone looking to get a short contract to take them to free agency for a bigger payday or worse leave to the KHL.

Significantly undervaluing ALL of the Kings side of these deals.

1. Quick isn't a cap dump to LA, as they're not in a cap crunch and he's a very useful backup and mentor to Cal Peterson. They certainly aren't sending away a 1st and a good young center to move him.

2. Byfields value > Kaprisov's right now, especially with the latter threatening to return to the KHL.

3. Georgiev hasn't proven NEARLY enough to think you can get a 2C on an ELC for the year plus extra NHL-level assets.
