Acquiring Hertl as a rental would be very short-sighted, imo…unless…the Wild are satisfied with the progression of Addison so the can move Dumba to create cap space after this coming season.

If the sharks aren't good by the deadline next season (which they prolly won't be) I think Hertl gets traded then. Not before

Doesn't make any sense, that's a lot of value from MIN, while Greenway and especially Rask make absolutely no sense for SJ.

I like the caveat that we want Addison to prove he can take over for Dumba, but I’d argue they are very different players. Dumba’s game is really one based on transition and he brings a layer of physicality that we really don’t have elsewhere. Addison is more of a offensive zone guy figuring out how to defend at the NHL level.

It is a very steep price for Hertl regardless, I’d rather wait to sign him in UFA if thats what we set our sights on.
