I think MTL accepts. They might be having Cap issues though

Dumba would cost lot more than that. Another 1st plus on top of this return

I'm low on Poehling, so change the 2nd to a 1st (top-10 protected) and I'd be interested from MN's POV. Anything less than that makes it a no-go for MN because that d-corps is awful.

Ryan poehling literally sucks. Hasn't done anything since his 1st Nhl season and remains in NHL. Wild also aren't trading dumba

works for us
he has more value then the last 1st to us

He like Kotkanemi ,Domi , Galchenyuk ,and Poehling were all on Claude Juliens **** list
He demoted Chucky from 1st line to 3rd line wing in only 2 weeks on the job
He wasnt exactly known for being easy on Centers remember the Seguin sage leading to Trade

Poehling after Claude was out of the picture rebounded the next season under Alex Burrows mentorship
He's played solid hockey with 25 points in 28 games before getting injured requiring surgery or else he would have been in the playoffs
Burrows has even said Poehling is in the mix to replace Danault this year and even though i doubt it if anyone would know its the guy running MTL's offense

Poehlings that big physical center we love here like a Lars Eller 2.0
We're just as happy to keep him as a draft pick has lower odds of success then our gamble on Poehling does

Probably not for 2 years of Dumba then we cant afford him
Or RD is pretty solid so we're not desperate to get a RD of Dumba quality.
We could be just as happy with 3rd pair players capable of 18-20 minutes regularly like a Myers ,Jokiharu or Shattenkirk (Vet exp at a cheap cap )

3rd pair players playing 18-20 minutes regularly? Are you confused?

Which Myers do you refer to?

MTL system is weird
4 line , 3 pair system
1st and 4th on any given night
Can be separated by 2-3 shifts.

D core because of special teams and MTL always being on the PK
We rely on our 3rd Pair D leaders to soak up a lot of minutes
Case and point is Jordan Benn who when we had a healthy roster played 3rd pair RD with 18-20 minutes
Last year our system was so weak we had to run 2 pair system with each of the bottom 2 D playing with a rotation of top 4 Escorts they were reffered to as

5v5 all 3 pairs play similar minutes
in MTL its time on special teams that puts you over
Its why Chiarot leads in minutes no matter who he's paired with
He's our top PK LD and we're constantly on the PK

It's called development. Only 3 players have scored a hat- trick in their first NHL game in the last decade. Matthews, Stepan, and Poehling. That's at least enough to warrant an extended look. That doesn't happen with no talent (unless you're Putin perhaps).

He had some time in the NHL to work on his game, but needed more development (or just Julien things). He's playing well in the AHL and should get another look in the NHL this year. Even then, he's only 21. Way too early to say he "literally" anything.

It's been 4 years. Hasn't gotten a look since his 1st nhl season along with his media history. Wild aren't trading dumba anyway

It's been 2 years. One shortened by injury.
First year split between NHL/AHL. Last season AHL.
Not enough to conclude "Ryan Poehling literally sucks".

You can't count AHL as NHL. I mean he hasn't been up in NHl , and played a regular season game since his 1st year

Does the vet exp at cheap cap apply to Myers? Most Nucks fans would beg to differ

You said it's been 4 years. He's only played 2 professional seasons. You can't count years before he even signed a contract, and those aren't professional seasons anyway.

Many players dip their toes in the NHL to see what they need to work on, then go back to the AHL where they can get more ice time and improve their game. It doesn't mean they "suck".
Dumba was returned to the WHL after his first 13 NHL games. Rantanen had 0 points in his first 9 game season before being sent down, and only 1 goal and 2 assists in his first 20 NHL games, and he was a 10th overall pick.
Point is, it takes more time to evaluate and develop most players. Even highly drafted players can benefit from extra time in the AHL following an NHL evaluation period.

Plus Poehling was a NCAA middle 6 Center
Shorter Seasons , Shorter playoffs, all road trips are planned around school so its mostly games crammed into weekends and tournaments.
Stamina training just wasnt there and neither was his defensive ability
Like Evans we knew it was going to take a couple seasons to get him conditioned for the NHL
Thats really his biggest down fall as his hockey IQ is solid
He's just such a big guy that he gets gassed so easy even in the AHL , or he did.
He earned his way to top guy in the AHL largely due to improved conditioning

He's no top 6 guy but he could be a serious Lars Eller option at best and a Colton Sissons option at worst
Especially now that he's not Rebelling against Claude Julien out of spite like all the young Centers did.
Burrows really helped turn things around for Poehling and speaks very highly of him

you're right cheap isnt i looked at his cap and saw Hamonics . i thought he had the 3m cap hit
So i guess i used a bad example. although Myers fits i wouldnt pay 6m
3m sure that seemed like par for the corse given Edmunston, Chiarot and Savard make
