I think Buffalo saw what Dubois did to get out of Columbus and should expect the same thing to happen to them.

If Dubois wanted to be in Buffalo it would be a fair trade.

Far too much from Winnipeg for one player. Definitely something Winnipeg would not consider.

Timing isn’t right, but would be kind of interesting some sort of scheifele/morrisey plus for eichel/dahlin. Kind of get rid of the old for Buffalo and try to build a culture with the new. Always stuck on the plus to make it work.

Jets we’re never even a contender for Eichel because well they have enough centers

The deal itself isn’t horrible from a value perspective...but why???

I don’t see how this deal improves the Jets in 21-22 or in the future. Mortgaging the roster players plus a pair of 1sts for a 2C who has a VERY complicated injury just doesn’t make sense to me. If he was 100% healthy, he would slot in as a 1C and give the Jets one of the 2-3 best Center duos in the league, but the risk that he never fully recovers is real, and to mortgage the future for that is a giant risk.

Better to bet on a Dubois bounce back (who still has 1C upside and is young) than bet the farm on a giant injury risk.
