Beauvillier probably gets 4.5-5 mill x 4-6 years on his next contract. The Islanders aren’t looking to trade him, he’s a core player. Considering Lehkonen is a significant downgrade, the Islanders wouldn’t even consider the trade

Beauvillier is a heck of a player who probably gets paid like @Db1899 said. I would think the trade package would be larger then that: at least a first and a younger roster player. Maybe if the Isles were having a difficult time signing him (I doubt Lou is), Drouin or Hoffman would be appealing, but I just don't think they fit what the Isles are building. I would say that it'll never happen. Sorry.

i just used lehknonen as a placeholder, i dont think he would be traded just wondering what he would make and what it would take if they are not in a playoff spot and wanted to sell. ya lehkonene is a huge downgrade lol

i think the isles are good at center and mtl is light so i dont think that would be a go, i see a big part of mtl intrest in beau is he is from quebec you know how the fans/media are with quebec born players. i think value wise it might be acurate but not good for either team. What are the NYI looking for is they ever entertained a trade?

With the Isles in win now mode, I don't think they match up good with Montreal on a trade. Their biggest need (assuming Palmieri, Parise, Cizikas are signed) is a #2 LD, and the Habs have no one that would be worth trading Beau for.

Romanov would have to be involved but Isles would be very, very hesitant to move Beau. Don't see it

I like Lehkonen, but the Isles need Beauvillier for his offense- which is much better than Lehkonens. Any kind of futures as a sweetner isnt ideal for the win now Isles....unless they feel they have to move him, which isnt the issue.
this trade doesnt really address any of the teams issues/weakness- other than adding a french canadian to the habs....which didnt work out to well for Drouin- whom most fans would be happy to see traded.
