Pens decline easily. There is no reason to trade Jarry for Fleury. Especially when adding MP. Jarry is an all star caliber goalie. Let’s not forget that he did have a .909 save percentage while being behind guys like Matheson for most of the season. And having a short stint where Dumo, Pettersson, Matheson all got hurt at the same time and they had to sign Yannick Weber off the street to play in the top 4 with Ahl journeyman Czuczman for a couple games. Had a rookie in POJ in the top 4 for a handful of games. Once the defense was healthy, Jarry led a team that was expected to fight for a playoff spot and land somewhere between 4th and 6th to a 1st place finish. Him playing with an injury and having a couple bad games in the playoffs because DeSmith had a worse injury and they didn’t trust Legace isn’t reason to sell him off. If the pens trade for fleury at the deadline, it’s to play a 1A/1B with Jarry. Plus they fired Suckley who was the real problem anyway. They aren’t going to give up on Jarry. The pens only do this if POJ is ready, no injuries to the D, and Jarry is switched to DeSmith.
