Like, the one thing the Sharks do NOT need is another aging blueliner, especially not one who plays LD.

What they *do* need is high level prospects and young players, considering that they're not going to be in any kind of contention for at least 3 seasons. I'm honestly not sure what the Habs could offer that the Sharks would want or need (maybe Brook?) but I can say with confidence that this ain't it.

I think the idea here is a rental, so it's in the ballpark as is. An "addition" would be overkill. Swapping a roughly equivalent value piece is fine.

Hertl is a game-changing player. Like I said, I think it's close, so I agree it's in the ballpark, but teams will offer more for someone on his level. Now, is it worth to MTL to do that? That's a different story. I think adding in Ylonen or Mysak could get it done and it's worth it.

It's certainly debatable, but once you go that far, you might as well go all the way and give up enough for an extension.
