Winnipeg isn't trading a good, young cost controlled bottom pairing defenseman with upside and a pick for two years of an older bottom pairing defenseman. It's pointless for Winnipeg to make a lateral move.
I think the Jets probably view their roster as set going into training camp so its a no to Soucy. If there was a place to upgrade it would be for a proven backup goaltender, but there is no cap space for that unless Beaulieu and Comrie (or somebody more expensive) are gone.
You don't get any players of value unless you're willing to give up something of value. A 1st 3 drafts away isn't much incentive for a team to trade away their best forward and retain 50%. Heck Nashville wouldn't get anything for 2 seasons under this scenario. That's a definite no. Teams would definitely be willing to give 2022 1sts +.
