7 pieces for one trades literally never happen...and it's an overpayment regardless.

Kuzy won't waive his NTC, and it'd be detrimental for WSH to move their whole center core for one guy who's unlikely to even play this year with that neck injury. That 2022 1st would look increasingly high, potentially a top10 pick.

Kuzy would have to be flipped, drop Alexeyev, the 23 1st and the 3rd

Probably not in WSH's best interest to trade 3 centers and two first rounders for one center. Overpay that leads to 3C Eric Staal... Yikes.

Not really

A 7 piece trade for 1 rarely happens, especially for a guy that is injured and wants out
Kuzy will definitely not waive to Buffalo unless he's flipped to a 3rd team
Eichel won't play for about half the year. Without Eichel, the center depth is Backstrom, Staal, and Dowd. Big yikes
The last one is a stretch, but the rest aren't

Only the last part is. And if WSH's C core is Bäckström-(probably Oshie)-Staal-Dowd, I don't expect them to fight for a playoff position. Metropolitan is such a tight division.

Won't resolve that C problem, and yes flipping a $8M contract sounds veeeery easy.

flipping an 8 mill contract at 50% is a lot easier. Eichel is a franchise center, it fixes their C problem

Very dependent on the operation Eichel would get. He wants an operation that has never been done on an active NHL player, and that would hold him off for two months, his current team wants an operation that keeps him out for 7-9 months. Under the CBA he's not allowed to get a surgery not approved by his team, so until the day he's traded or operated it'll be impossible to say how long he'll be out, because at his current state he won't be healthy enough to play.
