Definitely not Boldy isn’t a C Newhook out produced him at BC and Krebs is criminally underrated
Maybe - Kaliyev is a straight scorer who vaguely pretends to play defense.
Newhook is better than Krebs, by a fair margin and Boldy is just as good as Newhook. One can debate which is better, but it's close. They're two very different players. But that is why they meshed so well at BC.
Not only were Boldy and Newhook at BC together. They're also best friends, and were roommates as well as
linemates. They were inseparable, both on the ice as well as off of it. Newhook started off on Boldy's wing while BC was experimenting with Boldy at center for the the first half of Boldy's freshman year, and even if it didn't work out and the two were ultimately swapped in the positions they played moving forward, Newhook had the benefit of playing that wing position for so long. Even after the switch and Boldy took off offensively after being moved back to his natural wing position, he still played the more defensive role and would often defer production by continuing to utilize Newhook as the primary point producer on that line. That's just how those two worked together and rolled as teammates/friends/players.
So yes, naturally, Newhook out produced Boldy at BC, but that was
because of Boldy not because he’s the lesser player.
