    Allen still a great backup. If it's not EDM, there will be other teams. The idea is only to get a powerfoward to help Suzuki and Caufield.

    His career numbers he was middle of the back Starter wise 15-25th in the league
    As a Back up his first year he was 4th in the NHL in Save % and 4th in Goals Allowed %

    You just need a Starter with some quality to his game capable of 50-55 games + a year
    That said EDM doesnt have that so what you'll get is a mid level tandem goalie

    He'd be better off behind a Hellybuck in WPG

    Not really a great argument. No question Oilers need a starter as Mike Smith is on borrowed time already. Trading for Allen doesn't address our need, that being a STARTER. Between Stalock, any of the young guys in our system, and next free agency, there are plenty of back-ups available that won't cost us a good player in Foegele. Foegele looks like exactly the kind of player we need for some depth scoring. Good contract for the next 3 years too. This deal makes no sense for the Oilers

    Well when your biggest need is a starter then I’d say it’s a priority… You know that Bear was almost traded for Allen cuz he would’ve been selected by Seattle and then Price waived his NMC… Bear was then traded for… FOEGELE
