lol Canucks aren't doing that. They don't need a 6.5mil 3rd liner

I don’t like the Gallagher contract but scoring 30 goals isn’t exactly a 3rd liner

He's 29 and plays a game that causes players to decline quickly. Sure he scored 30 3 years ago but he doesn't produce enough anymore to make the Canucks top 6. There's zero chance they trade Hughes for that contract

*correction; he's "scored" 30 the last 4 seasons. Sounds like he produces more than enough to be on ANY teams top-6 : )

The "3 years ago" point is fairly moot given GP and shortened seasons... he was clearly on pace for 30 goals each of the last two years if 82 games were played. Every team wants a Gallagher player. That being said, I wouldn't do this trade if I were the Canucks. JT Miller "kind of" fills that role on the Canucks, and they certainly need help on defense

No way I would do this trade. We were terrible when Gally was injured, he is the heart and soul of the team.

I'd say Garland is pretty much exactly what Gallagher is

He's not playing ahead of Miller, Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, Hoglander, or Garland. So like I said the Canucks don't want a 3rd liner making 6.5mil

It's funny to me how you've mentioned Garland twice now and ragged on Gally for "not being a 30-goal scorer anymore", yet garland has never had or even been on pace to score 30...

Nobody is truly disputing that. But the fact if the matter is, are you actually convinced "Garland is pretty much exactly what Gallagher is"? 🤨

Garland: 0.796 PPG Gallagher: 0.657 PPG. So no I don't think Garland is pretty much what Gallagher is, I think he's better.

Seriously. Nice left turn tho. Your first argument was all about goals, now that i've discredited that, you move on to PPG. Bravo sir

I wasn't the one that brought up the goals genius. My argument was purely cap hit, age, and the fact that Hughes is being traded

Indeed, your argument was that a guy who has been top-10 in the league in 5 on 5 and even strength goals for the better half of his career doesn't produce enough to be higher than VANCOUVER's 3rd line lmfao scintillating stuff right there man
