Who is playing to stay

Created by: DaKeGa

Initial Creation Date: Oct. 5, 2021

Description
Just for fun. All of the players traded to Mon, Ottawa, and Van filling holes needed on their rosters. Don't freak out Van fans over Podkolzin, it is just playing around with names. Finding someone like Podkolzin would be a cool fit for Kubs and Tazer. 4 exciting lines that can rotate players and combinations up and down the line-up with exciting players like Hardman and RJ filling gaps for injuries makes a difficult forward lineup that is hard to contain. Gus will just fill in as a powerplay trial until Caleb and Wyatt get back complimented by Zub on the bottom pair. Change of scenery for a few players that may do well with more opportunities with new clubs.

So the Canucks give up 2 top prospects for your leftover scraps? Why would they do this?

Montréal can have Subban for free on waivers.

We aren’t trading 2 good prospects for a 4C and a former 4th round pick.

No one you traded to Vancouver fills any need on their roster but the players you traded for do. Vancouver says hell no.

Haha, I figured that would stir up all you Canucks fans, hence the explanation heading at the top; just for fun. Lol, sensitive bunch. By the way, Canucks are looking for a defenseman that can play the right side which (De Haan) can and I retained salary, a checking line center man due to Sutter being out that is cheap and experienced (Carpenter), a 2nd round draft pick is more than worth Klimovich, and Nylander would have upside playing in a better situation with opportunity, plus Shaw was thrown in to go on LTIR to alleviate any cap issues. I totally agree that they would not part with podkolzin for this, but like I said, it was all in fun; fun for us Hawks fans anyways, haha!

First off, there’s nothing sensitive about saying how bad this trade is for the Canucks. Secondly, we’d rather not acquire for DeHaan. Third, we have plenty of depth forwards to fill in for Sutter, don’t need another. Fourth, Klimovich was a second round draft pick this past draft so saying he’s worth less than that makes no sense, fifth, you clearly don’t know how LTIR because it doesn’t give you extra cap space, plus, we have enough cap space already.

Looking at this proposal from an Ottawa's perspective, depending on their level of faith in Ian Mitchell, the value could be there. That being said, from a needs perspective, don't think they'd do it. They really need Zub. And actually, RD (and RW) might be the only organizational weakness. Zub, JBD, Thomson, Roger and Guenette. All the hopes are on these 5 guys

You're right but it's evident that some people take this way too emotionally, it's the words used or the guy using caps and swearing lol

Totally agree that the Canucks should say no, this deal would most likely be counter-productive for them

Once again a bunch of people getting all angry about trades without reading the description. The guy knows they aren't good trades. He is just fantasizing about having Podkolzin on a line with Toews and Kubalik. Chill out! Also, LTIR does give you extra cap space. Contrary to popular belief, LTIR salary still counts against the hard cap it just allows teams to exceed the cap based on the salary of the player on LTIR. Therefore, it does "give you extra cap space". Even if that wasn't the way it worked and it just subtracted their cap hit from the balance of the clubs cap, it would still be giving them more space. Also, Why are you people still booing Keith? It was like a billion years ago and he isn't even a Blackhawk anymore. Get over it!
