Description
EVERYONE IS SIGNED TO MAXIMUM CONTRACT I BELIEVE THE PENGUINS WILL BE WILLING TO GO IN NEGOTIATIONS. Luckily most of the penguins FA's are RFA's and have less leverage. Also Bonino could be offered more in UFA and walk. Hainsey too but the GMJR connection might keep him around

1- RH Top 4 D (oh well Hainsey stays mobile well rounded)
1- 3rd Line Center (4M) Bonino for s&g and not many better FA options

1- Top 6 LW or just sign Kunitz cheep. He brings grit and edge and can still play with Sid or Geno which is often hard to find. 1M/1Year = Kunitz??? idk

1- Depth backup goalie (cheap) (800k)

Sprong could easily put up 20 in his first season with a ceiling as high as 50 in his prime. I would not be suprised to see a 30 goal scorer in his sophomore (full) season.

- I feel like one of Corrado or Pouliot will work out long term for penguins as a bottom pair guy.
- Hopefully, Maatta has a bounce back season.
-Jarry takes over backup duties and probably sees action in 20-30 games next season.

I am not going to lie.... I REALLLY REALLY REALLY like this 4th line. Your typical grit line. But this line can f' score.
- I see WIlson only breaking the 20 goal plateau a few times in his career and will spend most of his career in the 10-20 goal range. Not sure if he is best option.

- Rust is a waste in the press box every night. If he can play the left side he is Boninos winger then... otherwise flip him for a young D-Man with upside or equally talented LW with upside. Keep Kuhn.

PIT fans lover jerking off to their prospects. I just can't wait for Sprong to do nothing but play in the AHL next season. Do you guys know how rare it is for a player to go from the QMJHL to top 6 in the NHL and be effective? Chill out.

So wrong. Sprong has all the tools to be successful in the NHL next season. Even if he doesn't start there, he'll most certainly end up there by the time playoffs come around.

You just said I was wrong than agreed with me. Which one is it? He either is going into top 6 instantly like this guys is saying or it takes some time for it like I'm saying. I agree he'll be a good player, I'm just saying don't expect him to be top 6 off the bat.

by playoffs I bet you can lock him in a top 6 spot. not "years and years"

True, but the tone in your initial comment gave that impression. Regardless though, he has a very good shot at making the roster on opening day and by playoffs he'll probably be on the first line with Sid.

Sprong is tearing it up... But he's been in the Q a long time and is old for that level. May need to hamper expectations just a tad, as we've seen prospects light the lamp in juniors and never even crack an NHL lineup.

Sprong will be in the NHL next gear I would say it's safe to say as a top 9 role but definetly has the potential to be a top 6 rw sooner rather than later. That idiot who says the q doesn't produce many NHL players should research his statement bc he is wrong

Top 6 middle 6 bottom 6 it really doesn't matter when you are talking about Pittsburgh. On any given stretch of games (or even on a nightly basis) Sully will give ice time to the players most deserving of it. If Sprong earns NHL minutes right off the bat, then great, but if he has to spend half the season developing in WB thats fine too. One of if not the best player development systems in the NHL

50 goals!?! Let's see him score 20 first

Plenty of Q scoring leaders go on the flame out in the NHL

Hope he does, but that's redic expectation

Also, better have Bonino walk than pay him 4 million AAV

Nobody said years and years? what are u on about? The guy is right, management would be foolish to throw him into the fire like that. Develop him properly and he will be miles better.
