All the drama aside, Eichel is still the obvious number 2, by a significant margin. Having a C who can do what he can is worth more that Marner, points be damned.

I think Werenski slid way too far. I think he's still worth taking somewhere in that cluster of Bruins picks.

Mangiapane and Bear should be in this too. I'd reckon over Roslovic and Balcers respectively.

Agree about Mangiapane. Forgot he was here. Have to disagree on Bear though, I see him as a early 2nd.

Yeah I won't argue your point. I think we've yet to see the best from Marner and I'm no Toronto fan at all. Marner despite the drama and his contract is a ridiculously good player.

And Kaprizov, Boston literally traded the 5th round pick used to draft him to Minnesota because Sweeney thought he wouldn't have enough money left over to pay everyone once they were all on the roster. Instead, he chose to move off later round picks to offset the difference.

The Wild didn't have a 5th rounder going into the draft, and gave Boston our 2016 5th in return.

Otherwise, why and how does Eriksson-Ek drop?

Could probably swap Ek with Garland but IMO he isn't higher than that.

Ek is as good as, if not slightly better than, Cirelli is. So that doesn't make much sense. He finished 4th in Selke voting last year, and just had a hat trick last night. He's finally getting his shot to play up in the lineup now on our top line with Kaprizov and Zuccarello.

I don't think you know just how good he actually is. He is definitely better than Garland, by a mile. You could argue over Werenski and Boeser, but if he's not than Cirelli needs to be moved down. Cirelli has had the benefit of playing on a better and deeper team and also having better linemates, top six linemates anyway.

But wait, Boston acquired their first pick in this draft from LA in the Jones trade. They then traded Martin Jones to SJ for a 2016 1st (Jones was good then and took SJ to the finals in 2016) and they used the 2016 1st from SJ to draft Trent Frederic when they could have had Adam Fox, Carter Hart, Alex DeBrincat, Samuel Girard or Jordan Kyrou. Yeah.

Thats pretty subjective and you are clearly wearing your green tinted glasses.

I won't argue this. You're a Wild fan and you can go have this conversation with a Tampa fan. I don't care.

How?

I clearly stated that both Werenski and Boeser could objectively be better than Eriksson-Ek. I've watched more than enough of Garland to know which is the better player. And your being subjective in your own opinion that Cirelli is higher than those two. I gave my reasoning for why I disagree. And I don't have a problem with your opinion, at all. Take that for what you will. It matters not.

If you don't want to debate about it, that's fine. I don't particularly care either way, either. I also think Hintz isn't high enough and should be between Kaprizov and Chabot. And Beauvillier should be much lower, under Blackwood. But you have your opinion and I have mine.
